FCBC Tournament Rules & Information

Entries must be made on the official First Choice Badminton (FCBC) online form and must be received by the Tournament committee with the correct payment for entry by bank transfer.


Please ensure that all entry forms are completed fully and clearly with appropriate contact details in case of significant change to event details. Illegible or incomplete entries may be rejected. BOTH doubles partners MUST submit an entry form separately with payment. The committee does not have the capacity to chase outstanding partner entries. Please make every effort to secure partners yourself prior to submitting an entry form and make sure that your named partner has agreed to enter with you. (Clubs can send entry details by an email on an excel sheet with player details)


First Choice Badminton Club will not be liable for any expense incurred as a result of this event being cancelled or postponed. All expenses are at the sole risk of the competitor. Players must provide proof of ID/ age confirmation upon request. The FCBC reserves the right to refuse entry without assigning a reason and to alter or modify the programme in any way they see fit.


Neither the FCBC nor any official thereof will be responsible for any damage to or loss of articles left in the dressing rooms or hall, etc. from whatsoever cause arising. Times of play are subject to amendment when the Tournament Entries are known. Yonex AS10 or an equivalent brand of shuttles will be used. It is the responsibility of the player to check that they meet the eligibility criteria and restrictions as to who can enter, if in double please email us - serve@fcbc.uk


Withdrawal from the tournament: Should you need to withdraw, you must contact the FCBC by sending an email with valid reason for withdrawal before the 13 th October 2024 . No refund will be paid if withdrawal is made after the 13 th October . Competitors must report to the Tournament Officials immediately upon arrival for registration. Time is very tight to complete this tournament in the court time we have available and will require quick turnarounds and efficiency. If you are not there when your name is called to start the matches, the points will be awarded to the opponents.


Players must not leave the hall without an official’s permission until eliminated from all events entered. Please listen carefully to announcements made during the competition so that you are ready to move on court without delay.


Clothing must be acceptable badminton/sports clothing. All footwears worn must have non-marking soles. Leisure wear items (e.g. casual shorts, cropped trousers, leggings) are not acceptable in tournaments and may result in a decision to refuse permission to compete. This decision will be at the discretion of the Referee. The Referee reserves the right to penalise/exclude players for poor behaviour/ bad language.


FCBC expects all players to compete in a fair and proper manner. Any disputes over line calls/scoring etc that cannot be resolved between players should be referred immediately to the court manager (if appropriate) or to the Referee. Any claims regarding unfair play cannot be investigated if they are made after the match has concluded. By attending this tournament you agree to be photographed/videoed/filmed by FCBC’s authorised photographers and officials.


Car parking facility at Harrow leisure centre: At the time of writing first three hours of parking are free of charge after registering your car details via the app (this is subjected to change so please check on the day for latest update). Please make sure you have “pay by phone Harrow– parking app” installed on your smart phone In order to run the tournament effectively and efficiently, only the participating junior players are expected to be enter the halls during matches We will have to have absolute minimal rest periods between games played to achieve all the matches on time.


Prizes : Girls tournament prize giving ceremony will take place at around 1.00 pm and Boys tournament prize giving ceremony will take place at around 5.30 pm. Please DO NOT request your trophies to be awarded to you until we complete all our matches The personal data that is provided will only be held for the purpose of the event and will not be shared with 3rd parties.
